Nissan has made some great models, and now is your chance to play with them or display them.

For instance this amazing 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R from Jada Toys. Huge amount of detail and everything can be opened, even the hood and trunk. A great car to display, but cheap enough to use as toys to serve.

In this guide I look at the best Nissan toy cars and what you should pay attention to when buying.

Nissan car toy buying guide

What should you pay attention to when buying Nissan toy cars?

Sustainability

There are quite a few differences in quality between toy car brands. Just look at the difference between Jada Toys and Hot Wheels, you can clearly feel the quality.

In any case, almost nothing can go wrong with a complete diecast car. That is what I paid extra attention to when assessing the durability of the cars.

Quality of driving

With toy cars you want them to be able to drive well. Some may be for display only, not for play. But you still want them to roll well.

A few things to watch out for are:

  1. the distance from the wheels to the chassis: some toy cars run into problems so they don't drive very well
  2. the rigidity of the shaft: some toy cars are very wobbly so the wheels can move far in and out, and still rub
  3. the quality of the wheels: is it plastic or are there really rubber wheels on the tires? Rubber rolls a lot better
  4. the weight of the car: you may not realize this right away, but the weight of the car plays a very large role in how well it rolls. A heavier car made of diecast or wood rolls a lot better and further than a plastic car

Replayability

Much of the car's replayability is in how well it drives, but there are other factors that determine how often they return to it.

Age also plays a part. Is it a car that stays on the left after toddlerhood or can it last longer because it is also suitable for older children?

I rated each of the cars on this list on these parts on a 5-point scale.

Great detail. It's Brian's 34 Nissan Skyline GT-R R2002 right out of Fast & Furious.

It is 1:24 scale with durable 100% die-cast body and even rubber tires.

A nice detail is that the trunk can even be opened, but especially the hood and the detailed engine are great.

It is a car that you can put down perfectly, but the price also lends itself as a toy car. It's kind of in between.

Best for
  • Nice and small and still RC
  • With rear-wheel drive, it spins nicely out of the corner
Less good
  • It is less suitable for real steering

A 1:64 RC car, you don't often see them that small. Great for fun stunts on the Hot Wheels tracks, but also great to use on the floor.

A nice detail is the "turbo boost" to add extra speed, for example just before a loop.

The cars are suitable from 5 years, 4 would also be possible. We've driven it into the wall quite a bit and it's still doing great. Is very firmly put together.

The booster does drain the battery quickly, so you may have to make some arrangements with your child about that.

Only the rear wheels are rubber and the front wheels are plastic. This is because it has rear-wheel drive, which makes steering a bit different.

You can clearly see that it was developed for use on the Hot Wheels tracks where steering is not an issue.

But because of the rear-wheel drive, it spins out of the corner very quickly, which my son really liked.

  • Great detail
  • Everything can open
Less good
  • Quite pricey

Clearly more detail than the Jada Toys car and slightly more expensive. This one tends to model cars than a toy car.

Although many people also give it to children. It is a nice big car in 1:18 scale and also has steerable wheels with rubber tires.

Has bonnet, doors and trunk that open and the level of detail on the inside is huge.

It measures approximately 10 by 4 by 3,5 inches (25 x 10 x 8,9 cm) and looks great.

Conclusion

Nissan has a number of beautiful models and with these toy cars you can play with them perfectly.
