Assemble the cars as shown in the examples or make your own creation in blue, to fight the crooks.

What is the Magformers Police Set?

are magformers magnet tiles, available in different versions. The Magformers police set also has magnet tiles that fit on any other set of Magformers.

The theme of this set is a police station with prison and police car.

The police station and car can be put together in different ways for multiple combinations. There are also instructions with examples for this.

What makes the Magformers Police Set fun?

Suitable for children between 3 and 12 years old, but fun between 4 and 8 years old.

This Magformers set is perhaps a bit more fun than the Magformers basic set because it is a bit clearer what you can make with it.

Also better suited for the slightly less creative kids as all pieces have a clear purpose, such as:

  • windows
  • a staircase
  • roof tiles
  • a prison
  • a car chassis

Although all these parts can be combined endlessly so that you can still put something of yourself in them and there are really a lot of nice examples already available in the booklet.

Slightly less educational than the basic set but very nice to play with and a lot more fun than, for example, one toy police set which is just a fixed building and a fixed car.

It becomes especially fun when you have more Magformers tiles. This way you can make more combinations and expand the police station and car.

Then it's basically a set that gives the Magformers wheels, and some building accessories.

My son played with it a lot, but it really didn't get much use until we combined the set with the Magformers Basic Set.

What are the disadvantages of the Magformers Police Set?

There are indeed 50 pieces in the set, but most of that is accessories. In the end, you can only combine the magnetic tiles in a few ways.

Often you can't make a nice car together with a creative police station, but you have to take one apart to build the other.

It seems as if Magformers intended this set (and others) mainly as an extension and not so much as a stand-alone.

It should last you a while until it's time to expand the set, so you could buy it as your first Magformers introduction.

It is more suitable for smaller children from 3 or 4 years old, but can grow up to 8 years old.

Toddlers love to discover what you can do with it while playing, but also at a later age there are much more difficult things to build.

De Basic Set from Magformers (reviewed here) is more suitable as a first building set of this brand. You can do a lot more with it.

Since the Magformers magnetic tiles do not fit on other brands of tiles, you cannot easily buy the Police Set as an addition to something else.

I would therefore recommend starting with the police set with younger children when you know you will soon be buying more, or else purchase the Basic Set.

The toy set consists of 26 molds with which your little one can build the nicest characters, all in an underwater theme with magnetic fishing rod.

There is it for even smaller children Stick-O Fishing Game (reviewed here).

The underwater theme is of course very different from the police set, but it is very nice to experience your own creations.

Building is a lot easier than Magformers, especially in the age group 1,5 to 4 years. So they will soon be able to work with it themselves.

The disadvantage is that it does not fit on other magnet tiles, but it does fit on other Stick-O sets or on Smartmax building sets.

Stick-O is also from Magformers and has the same build quality.

This is a set with a lot of potential. It's nice for a while as a stand-alone set, but soon you'll want to expand to more tiles.
