De LEGO Minecraft The Destroyed Portal set is really great. You have your little man here with armor and a big axe, so he is already a bit more advanced in the game.
In addition, there are two creatures and of course the ruined portal with the skeleton behind it.

In this review I take a closer look at the set.
- Interactive play experience provides hand controls to activate the interdimensional gate
- Limited play options with no additional sets
- High price

Overall rating
The nice thing about this set is that the portal can disappear very easily by just pulling the lever, and it immediately falls down.
But you can also rebuild it by placing a piece of wall and raising the portal back up.

Then it's another solid portal for the Minecraft figure to go through. When he goes through the portal, he ends up in the lava land that is also here.
There he has to defeat the skeleton and there is a big lava tree. It is quite easy to put together as there are no difficult pieces.
The hardest part was probably getting the gantry perfectly aligned, but my son got this set for his fifth birthday and we put it together together.
I don't think he could have done it alone, because with other Lego sets all the pieces have meaning and build towards something like a tower or a police car.
But with this set, there are many small blocks that you have to build separately and fit in exactly the right place.
It's quite difficult to see where everything should go, so I think this set is really intended for children from eight years old to build themselves.
My son likes to watch Minecraft on YouTube, so he already knows the game, even if he hasn't played it himself yet.
But he's still excited to play with his Minecraft Lego because it's what he sees and knows.
He's actually reenacting the various Minecraft videos he's seen. All in all it is a very cool set and a lot of thought has gone into the design.
And I think the figure has no way back once the portal is gone, so you better be quick and beat that skeleton.

As with most Lego sets, it gets more fun to play with more Minecraft sets, especially if you want to use the portal. Because now the lava land is right behind the portal, which is a bit strange.
But if you have a few more sets, and even if you have other regular Legos, you can expand it and make the portal actually go to another place where the Minecraft figure needs to fix some things or maybe collect some treasure that you have in another set.
But I think you get a lot of pieces for the price. It's 316 pieces, which is quite a lot.
So not only do you get a cool set to play with, but also 360 pieces to use in your other Lego builds, however you like.
Here in our house, new Lego often stays in one piece for the first two months, and then it's usually put in the big bin where I like to experiment and build new things.
There are many different types of cubes you can use here. There are a few things missing to make it a full set, for example there is no debris particle in this set.
The little guy is a pro, I think, because he has netherite armor. So he's pretty cool already.
I think if you come across these portals and defeat the skeletons, it makes sense that the character has progressed further in his quest. You don't need an app or anything to put it together.
With the Lego Mario sets you have to use the app because there is no booklet, but this set comes with a complete instruction booklet on how to assemble it. A complete set with lots of fun!
