A great piece of AR tech with an educational approach. The Shifu Plugo does well on several fronts, from problem solving to learning to spell and yes, also arithmetic.
Plugo is an app in which you can use multiple hardware. The app uses your iPad's camera to see what you put in front of him in the real world, on the included play mat. With the Pack you get the play mat and 3 parts, which you can also buy separately with or without a mat (and more accessories are available).
This combination of a game on the iPad with the physical playing pieces makes it extremely educational and also appeals to the imagination more than an app alone. It is well thought out and actually educational.
Learning to calculate is well organized. You can initially set your child's school level, which will make the games more difficult or easier. We started at about the beginning with our 5-year-old son and they are simple sums that you can solve with a few numbers.
